Who Walks Beside You

“If you knew who walked beside you at all times, on the path that you have chosen, you could never experience fear or doubt again.”

Path to Awakening

When you wrap your arms around me, hold me close and whisper in my ear, “I feel safe”, I understand.

You said you see light in my eyes and you just want to spend time with me.

You say you see the world in my eyes.

I know what you really see, even if you don’t.

I know why you feel this way, even when you don’t.

If I could just give you all the answers you seek, I would.

If I could hand you all of what I see and know to be true, I would serve it to you on a silver platter.

If I told you that all that I have within me, you have as well but you just don’t know it, would you believe me?

I can be all of this, be the light of being, and hope that you follow.

But your path to awakening is between you and God alone.

I will hold your hand though.

I will try and make things easier.

I will love you the entire way.

Help Me God

God help me forgive the man who stole my phone today.

A phone I had for less than a month, after losing my last one to a wave at the ocean.

He doesn’t see that by harming another he is really harming himself.

Help me let go of the anger, frustration and sadness felt from the senseless act at the hands of another.

It’s just a phone, contact numbers, pictures and writings.

It just happened a few weeks ago and I dealt with it then.

I can do it again.

It’s not really about the stolen phone though.

It triggered things much deeper, like these surface things always do.

It was just the wind that blew down my house of cards.

Help me let go of the violation I feel by this latest loss.

Thank you for helping me not stay a victim but have another experience of taking my power back.

Help me to accept this and learn what I must learn from this experience and not loose faith in human beings.

Thank you for keeping me in the light and allowing me the willingness to not stay in the darkness.

I cannot do this on my own.

I need your help.

Comfort me.

Be with me.

Keep me safe.

I trust in your will.

Out of Self

When I am suffering, the answer may seem to be to delve into “self” and go into past stories of my life to find the answer to my problem. Some may say we need to “process” what we’ve been through to get to a state of well being.

Yet my problem is of a spiritual nature.

And every spiritual teaching tells us that the answer is to get out of self.

The idea of self is just ego trying to create separation between ourselves, God and others.

The more I go into my story, my past, my own suffering, I just get more of the same.

When we get out of self, remember that we are not separate at all, we finally feel the oneness with all that is created.

We know we are just a part of the same whole.

We find relief in giving more love to others, taking less interest in our own selfish wants and desires.

We find we are understood only in the understanding of others.

However we cannot fully understand and accept others until we love them unconditionally first.

We find comfort in comforting others.

The peace and comfort I wish to find is never in the seeking for myself.

Today my only goal is to be loving to those in my life.

I never know if I’ll have a tomorrow.
