Work for it

Turn Over Every Stone My child

You run

From me

From everything I am

Everything you feel

You push

Me away

so far away

Out of reach of your world

You come back

Every so often

To let me know you still exist

I catch

Only glimpses

A window from the outside

You choose

Over and over again

In each moment

To stay away

I live

grow, change, laugh, cry

In a full life

I wait

While you turn over every stone

Searching to find

What is not to be found

Out there

For the day

When you know

What I know

What you gave up

I wonder

Will it be too late

Is it already

And for what

Definite answers

In a world

where definite answers don’t exist

Staying Out Of The Dream

I want to live in the story that I wish to create, not someone else’s. What I mean by that a reality based on a set of belief systems drummed up by the majority of humans or specific individuals. To create a world that I can live in, that’s what is essential to my sanity and my happiness.

Every day the stories told by people about what they believe is real and stories of the world going on around me constantly attempt to pull me in. It takes daily vigilance to not get lost in the fog of it all, and come back to what I know to be real, what I know to be true.

I constantly weave in and out of clarity, going into the dream and then coming back out. Forgetting and relearning, over and over again.

In those moments, when I see everything exactly as it is, it’s like a deep breath of fresh air after holding my breath under water.

I can see people acting out their incessant patterns of insanity, and without judgement, love them and let them go to be free to live their lives as they do. I can understand them only from a deep understanding of myself when I did those things and didn’t know why. I never even thought to ask why, I just did them unconsciously.

I thought I was looking for love when I really I was looking for someone to complete me, someone to fill the void that existed while on my own, someone to hold me up, someone to fix the unhappiness.

To hold onto this awareness and not repeat old patterns, there is one important focus that remains and that is to not get drawn into the dream with others, to stay firmly planted in my reality.

When I watch people search and search for completeness in the arms of another, I am reminded of why that is not the answer for me. When I see those around me looking to fill their spiritual emptiness with someone else, someone who will never be the solution, I say to myself “Thank you God for freeing me off this need to find comfort in a person, the comfort that will only ever be found by remaining close to you.”

Reality?

“Scientists now know the brain receives 400 billion bits of information each second. To give you some idea of just how much information that is, consider this: It would take nearly 600,000 average-size books just to print 400 billion zeros. Needless to say, that’s a heck of a lot of reality. So what do we do? We start screening. We start narrowing down. I’ll take that bit of information over there, and let’s see—this one fits nicely with my ongoing soap opera about the opposite sex. When all is said and done, we’re down to 2,000 measly bits of information. Go ahead and take a bow, because even that’s pretty impressive. We’re talking 2,000 bits of information each and every second. But here’s the problem. What we choose to take in is only one-half of one-millionth of a percent of what’s out there.”

Without Words

You cannot get wet by the spoken or written word “water”.

This is a word that was created to describe the substance that is.

You can see it, touch it and drink it.

It was created to communicate what exists.

The words “love” and “I love you” are an attempt to describe the act or action of loving.

It is not a “feeling”.

By themselves, they are just words that can be heard by the ears but the words are not what can be felt in the heart.

You cannot know and feel love by the word, only by action of being loving.

Love is respectful, kind, honest, giving, unselfish, consistent and committed.

It is not greedy, needy, selfish, careless, hurtful or fickle.

If I wanted to convey love but had no language to use, what would I do?

“The only way you know you love yourself or anyone else is by the contracts you are willing to make and keep.” Pat Allen

We are everything

I am the sun that shines in the sky

The moon that illuminates the night

The drops of water on morning leaves

The wings of butterflies

The colors of wild flowers in a field

The blades of grass waving in the breeze

The trees that stand rooted in soil

The oxygen that gives life

The atmosphere

I am the music of crashing waves on a beach

Laughter of children

A warm hug

I am love, understanding, hope, joy & goodness

I am the smile from another

The eyes that look back at me

I am you and you are me

And we are everything
